About Turkey Emergency

A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria. The earthquake hit at 4.17 am Monday 6th February 2023, followed by aftershocks as large as 6.4 and 6.5 magnitudes respectively only minutes later. 10 provinces in the region have been affected, and shocks were also felt in Palestine and Jordan. The earthquake has brought immense suffering in Syria, where infrastructure has been severely weakened by over a decade of war, and millions are living in poverty, displaced from their homes. Rescue teams continue to search for people trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings, including children. There is an urgent need for help, and time is of the essence.

Latest reports reveal that at least 37,000 people have been confirmed dead across both Turkey and Syria, with numbers rising hourly. Tens of thousands people have been injured across the affected provinces in Turkey and Syria, putting a strain on overwhelmed and weak healthcare facilities already devastated by the conflict. As rescue efforts continue to save lives, the real damage of the earthquake will become prevalent, and the death toll is expected to sadly rise. Children of Adam are on the ground to provide support to those affected by this awful tragedy. Our teams will be providing cooked meals, food, blankets, clothes and tents to support people in these dark days. Donate now to help those in need.
