Poverty is one reason why so many children are not in school. Parents cannot afford the fees, stationary, uniform and food for their child. In impoverished communities, many families prefer their children support with household chores or collecting water. On the other hand, schools are often run-down. Many schools lack adequate hygiene and sanitation facilities including toilets, particularly impacting girls. At Children of Adam, we’re working with these challenges and supporting families to send their children to school.
