Street Children
In Pakistan, an estimated 1.3 million children call the streets their home. For so many of these children, the reality is far more harrowing than numbers can convey—they are undocumented, unseen, forgotten. This silent crisis of street children isn’t confined to one nation; it is a growing global issue that leaves millions vulnerable to exploitation, abuse, and the harsh pull of crime.
Every child deserves to be cherished and protected, to live in a safe home surrounded by love and care. They should be able to go to school, make friends, dream big, and chase a bright future. But for countless children, life has taken a different, darker path. Poverty, neglect, and despair have forced them onto the streets, where they face unimaginable hardships. Instead of holding books, they hold cleaning rags. Instead of playing with toys, they sell flowers, shine shoes, or beg for scraps to survive. For many, the weight of this life becomes unbearable, and some even succumb to crime or drugs just to cope.
At Children of Adam, we cannot stand by and let this crisis go unnoticed. We are deeply committed to rescuing and supporting these vulnerable children. Our School Under the Skies (SUS) initiative provides a lifeline—a safe space where children can access medical care, learn informally, play, and simply be children again. In these small, close-knit settings, we strive to offer hope and protection to those who need it most.
