1. Remembrance of Allah (Zikr)

On the Day of Arafah, every act of worship holds even greater reward, making it a perfect time to increase our remembrance of Allah. We can engage in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) throughout the day, no matter what we are doing. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

“There are no days greater in the sight of Allah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahlil (La Ilaha Illallah), Takbir (Allahu Akbar) and Tahmid (Alhamdulilllah).” (Musnad Ahmad)

2. Fasting on the Day of Arafah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged us to increase our good deeds during the first ten days of Zulhijjah, as they are considered among the most blessed days of the year. Fasting is highly recommended during the first nine days, especially on the Day of Arafah. The tenth day, known as Hari Raya Aidiladha, is celebrated as the culmination of these days.

“All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except for fasting, it is for Me and I shall reward him for it. (Al-Bukhari)

3. Supplication on the Day of Arafah

On the Day of Arafah, it is strongly encouraged to devote ourselves to sincere supplication, seeking Allah’s help, mercy, and guidance. We should earnestly pray for ourselves, our parents, family, loved ones, and the broader community, placing our complete trust in Him. Even if the answers to our prayers seem delayed, we should not feel discouraged or disheartened. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said,

“The best supplication is the one made on the Day of Arafah, and the best supplication of which I and the Prophets before me have made was, “There is no god but Allah, He is One, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and all praises, and He is Omnipotent over all things” (Sunan At-Tirmizi)
